  • Well, first of all, there are women that are just a tough as men when they work out and are really motivated to strengthen their muscles. I don't really know the answer to this question but I do think that it's normally true that men are stronger than women.
  • Not all men are physically stronger than women. I can list at least five men who I could physically restrain if I needed to. And I'm only 5'5".
  • Did He? I suggest you ask God when you meet him. By the way, strength can be measured in many ways, not just physically.
  • It is impossible to differ between the two. Although ostensibly men are indeed stronger then women, it depends on how motivated the person is to make themselves stronger
  • God didn't make men physically stronger than women. Evolution has made men larger than women for a variety of reasons. As the larger member of the two sexes, men tend to be physically stronger overall, but may not be as strong, pound for pound, as women are. As the species has evolved, women as the birthing partner were caring for offspring, while men were needed to provide food, protection and shelter. Being the larger and stronger member of the two sexes was an evolutionary advantage for men during those times. There was not an evolutionary advantage for women to be larger and stronger. A larger, stronger woman would require more food, and therefore be even more dependent on men during times that they were unable to forage for themselves (childbirth and early child-rearing). This would clearly be an evolutionary disadvantage.
  • Men are physically stronger than women? Okay... I want to see a man give birth!
  • It is a biological fact (and one that over time I'm sure that many people, men and women, have regretted) that males have more muscle mass, both proportionately and absolutely, than women. Of course this is based on an average, but the stats don't lie. If I can be a bit naughty and add something, in my experience women seem to be emotionally stronger than men. I have a wierd theory (which I can't back up) that this, in conjunction with my origional answer, could be one of the reasons why some men who are emotionally damaged seem to turn to violence. Hence one of the reasons why society contains far more male serial killers and why more murders (or indeed other violent crimes) are more often committed by males.
  • You wouldn't have got any houses built.
  • Men are stronger through the upper torso. Women are stronger lower down...Try doing a 1/2 squat 90 degree angle...against a wall...then from there pick up a std chair....women can do this easily.
  • The male is suppose to be the provider. He has to have more stringth for that. The female is the nest builder....
  • Men in the past have had to do more physically demanding labor while women had to to more tedious, intricate labors. He designed them for this division of labor. He made them compatible and to complement each other. Where one is strong the other is soft. Where one has skills the other has stamina. One is not better than the other, just different.
  • I had a thought in regard to the evolution of men and women. Probably in the early days of the species, sex was probably NOT a thing accompanied by romance, compliments, etc. Those are pretty modern developments. I suspect that often there was physical coercion - and if a female who didn't want to be bred could fight hard enough, she WOULDN'T be bred. Thus, natural selection would favor the women who were physically weaker than the males who wanted to breed them.
  • well im a guy and i can do a 1/2 squat 90 degree angle against the wall and pick up a chair ANSWER TO ORIGINAL QUESTION: God made woman from mad, don't question HIS authority and power! Hmm, watch a man give birth? Already about to happen. How about watch a woman get nailed to the cross? She wouldn't even make it through the scourging! According to the Bible, one man was given the strength of God: Samson. Try getting a woman to tear down 2 pillars by barely touching them. Any ways men and women are both equal, just nowadays the women look like steriod abusers, but it looks normal on guys.
  • He though we needed some type of defence from them yo...
  • Perhaps because women are usually stornger emotionally and it's a nice balance.
  • Though nobody knows for sure, common sense suggests that it's an evolutionary adaptation. Throughout history, males have needed to be physically strong for the roles they've taken on, and great strength served as an advantage. Meanwhile, physical strength beyond what is needed for normal functioning has always been mostly irrelevant for women as their work never required great strength, just patience and dedication. It's also a trait for mating, as in most species females select males with certain characteristics (antlers, horns, etc). IMO, testicles serve as a trade-off and a built in weakness for females to exploit when it is necessary- a relatively weak concussive force to the testes is crippling to males and is a greater and more exposed weakness than anything females have.
  • From an evolutionary perspective, its called 'sexual dimorphism' and it is a physical consequence of generations after generation of sexual promiscuity. I'm not an expert on it, but other great apes demonstrate the same characteristics - and the more monogamous they are the closer they are in physical stature. Check out Gibbons vs Gorillas. and if you think god created us all, then he made us bigger because women don't know when to shut up.
  • who's god? I thought we all just came from a bunch of primordial ooze and it just happens that men and women are strong in different ways, each playing a different role and each different in strengths that support the roles they played. But all in all men and women can be about the same strength, men have more muscle mass on average due to hormones...unless of course there is a god..and then I would say she made man stronger because she gave women everything else
  • Because God has a wee wee.
  • Someone has to build the house.
  • God didn't. Man evolved and needed strength as the provider of the family, to hunt and protect. But its all relative now as many women are very strong physically and since we know strength isn't everything. A woman who knows how to kick can take down the strongest man.
  • His original intent was that men would protect women. But then He gave people free will. When He saw that not all men were protective of women, he invented the Glock Model 19 for women.
  • To defend her, not to dominate her
  • God didn't make anything.
  • Males and females had different "roles" during our evolution.. Males had the job of hunting, protecting and stuff which needed strength.. So they became physically stronger. Females on the other hand had to take care of their family and do other not so physically challenging work.. So, they didn't need to be as "physically" stronger as the males
  • i don't think men would be strong enough to give birth to a baby =/
