  • CAN ANYONE ANSWER PLEASE? IT IS MILK NOT A CLEAR FLUID.
  • She probably has a false pregnancy going on. How long ago was her last heat? If you are not planning to show her and earn your titles so that you can prove she has something magnificent to add to her breed; I strongly urge you to have her spayed. Not only will you not have to go through THIS again, but you won't have to worry about her accidentally being bred by ANY MALE DOG...(like one too big for her). BEST OF ALL...Spaying helps prevent breast cancer AND rules out uterine cancer ALL TOGETHER! It really does cut back on the chances of her ever getting a reproductive cancer at all! It's worth it! Plus you will be part of the solution to so many wonderful dogs and puppies being put to death every night after no adoption on last day!
  • Hi! I have a female chihuahua and mine had the same problem some time ago. The fluid was at first yellowish and sticky and later it began to become greenish. It did not smell bad, but it definetely wasn´t milk. I took her to the vet and he told us it was "mastititis" (Sorry, I'm from Mexico and I don´t know the correct word in english). The vet recommended Bamitol, which is a green balm made by Bayer labs. The problem is that it is made in Mexico and I don´t know if you can buy in the States. Anyway, ask your vet. I found this page kind of late but I still hope it is useful. Good Luck.
  • super glue.. no really my vet said to try it...
  • Dog have the ability to lactate and play surrogate mothers when not pregnant. This is because back when all dogs where wolves, if a mother died another female in the pack could take her place and feed the pups. If it's milk then it's completely normal and nothing to worry about. Just make sure that her nipples don't become crusty or begin excreting something other than milk.
