Ive noticed that high school boys not only lack maturity but also respect for any girl there with. for example a friend of mine was called stupid because she got a wrong unit patch for a project and her "man" insulted her. Is that true everywhere?

High school boys AND girls can be immature at times. That doesn't mean it's okay to put people down or behave in ways that are cruel or degrading. I hope your friend let her boyfriend know that she wants to be treated respectfully.

If a girl exposes a lot of cleavage or wears short shorts, she'll get less respect. It doesn't mean they don't deserve the respect, it just means the type who look for girls who dress like that aren't the respectful type. Your avatar (but mostly society, including my little sister) makes me think perhaps you expose a bit too much and your friend likely does too. Teachers used to get on to students for not respecting themselves (a very genuine, nice, black female substitute teacher who had been through a lot explained this to us once) by telling them they were being indecent, but now teachers and parents couldn't care less.

After high school that stops pretty quickly. Most women wouldn't tolerate that type of behavior unless it was jokingly and both parties truly knew it was a joke. For example if one of us trips it's not unlikely that the other will say something like- "Smooth MOVE- X-Lax!" or something to that effect. We know it's all in good fun. But when you're doing it to be a jerk- that's not okay. I HOPE it doesn't happen everywhere, and I think that out of HS that stops PDQ.

I dated a couple of jerks in high school..but I also dated a couple of really great guys. Maturity is not consistent at that age. Disregard the jerks and you may open yourself up to meeting some of the nicer guys who don't always get noticed at first glance. More importantly, girls at that age benefit from learning to pat themselves and each other on the back and boost each other up (and one's self) rather than seeking it solely from a boyfriend (a hard but valueable lesson at any age!)

A boy only shows disrespect to a girl who lets him. I hope I've taught my daughter that she is worth respect.

I would say it is probably true that he insulted her. However, girls do it to each other also have noticed, they tend to put each other down instead of complimenting each other, part of it is being a teenager and the other part is just teen angst.As a parent you can harp on this condition by its an uphill battle.

im a guy and i'll admit there are at least 70% of high school guys are immature and i act stupid to but not to women and its not just that, women do the same in there own ways cause that same percentige of women think there to good for every one cept guys with good looks, money, or is real poppular. so in my opinion theres messed up people on both sides but i aint one of them.
