He should think about not being on the road or at least not the same road as I'm on.

He should be thinking about climbing down out of that ridiculous truck and learning to drive in a more reasonably sized car.

The driving itself as a skill will come to you fairly quickly. Watch the other guys on the road, the ones who switch lanes too closely, pull out into traffic, make illegal moves and tailgate. Drive defensively. Make sure you know not only what the driver in front of you is doing but what the driver in front of him is doing as well.

And take it eaasy. Driving isn't a thing you do with half your attention; it takes thousands of lives a year. Be safe out there.

First I'd recommend getting experience before driving a hulk like that.

Check your mirrors often to be sure you stay in the lane.
Leave plenty of room for stopping.
Never forget the size of your vehicle - you need lots of space for parking, changing lanes, etc.
Plan out your course - vehicles that big can't make sudden, smooth changes in course like a little civic can.
Take it easy on the corners - you are at a higher risk of rolling over.

Please don't get a hummer if you aren't taking it off road. I HATE people that buy them and never let them see gravel. Stock skid plates, locking diffs, big-ass tires and complex engineering are not there to make sure you can get to soccer practice...

"What am I doing in this thing?"

They are WIDE. They are dangerously wide. I blocked one off on my road without trying as there was not enough room for my skinny car and their H2; sad when you consider that I have squeezed by log trucks.

You should think about your insurance rates. You should think about the possibility of killing people just because you wanted a Hummer. Bill Clinton didn't hurt/kill anybody for a Hummer, so why should you?

They were designed for off-road, military use. If I wanted to take a military vehicle on the highway,I would rather opt for the only other one with low enough ground pressure to be street-legal; a Sherman tank.
