Help answer this question below.
To force you to buy another pack of hotdogs.
so the sellers can make more $$$$$$$$$$$
So that Steve Martin can go on a rant about it in a supermarket.
The hot dogs I buy come in packs of seven..... they're kosher beef.... I hate filler dogs......
Anyway
3 packs of 8-pack hot dogs = 24 Hot dogs
2 packs of 12 buns =24 buns
It's a scam!!!!!!!!!
Because 'back in the day' you would go to the butcher for hot dogs (or sausages) and they would make any number you wanted. Bun were premade and packaged in the store, and they decided that 12 was a good number.
I would assume that at that time 12 dogs were about an averave order, and they packaged the buns accordingly.
Its called rip off the consumer...the bread company knows this and people have been compaining for years but they STILL have not changed it...they want you to buy more bread is the bottom line
I have explained this before. Now pay attention, class:
In every family there are one or two children who are not favored by their parents. those children get the dog without the bun and their little fingers get burnt.
Because when they first started selling hot dogs, they did not come in a bun. The vendor supplied you with a glove so you wouldn't burn your hands. Many patrons left and never returned the glove. The vendors then started putting the hot dogs in a roll so you wouldn't burn your hand, you didn't have to return anything as the roll was eatable.
At that time, sausages were already being sold by the pound in a store, ten to a pound. The rolls were already ebing sold a dozen (12) to a pack. Thus is the reason why sausages and rolls are sold in different numbers per package.
yes they now sell them where they match 9 pack of dogs and 8 pack of buns.
they are doing that now'
it is plot by the Trilateral commision
It's made so that you have to find the lowest common denominator. So, you end up buying three packs of hot dogs and two packs of buns.
That's how they get you.
It really has to do with how they are made. Meat is usually sold and made by the pound. Most dogs weigh 1/8 of as pound. SO there are 8 dogs in a package. Bread is sold by the pound or by the dozen (or parts of a dozen) SO they wouldn't sell you one pound of rolls becasue that would be a lot! They sell them as part of a dozen, half a dozen.
I'm not sure about hot dogs, but I work in a bakery and we sell the hot dog buns in 6 packs and 8 packs.
Must be different in different areas. Around here, must dogs come in packs of ten and the buns come in packs of eight. Unless you buy the jumbo hot dogs or even the fat-free dogs that most of the time come in packs of eight. Then you come out even!
Good marketing plan to make more money for the bakeries.
Ok, the hot dogs we buy (vegetarian) come in packs of ten. the bakery hot dog buns come in a package of ten. No problems.
because life doesn't always work out according to plan so be happy with what you've got, because you can always get a hot dog.
I buy HEB hotdogs which come in packs of 5!! That makes it real hard!!
each hot dog is one half of a quarter pound- so an eighth of a pount, two ounces, nice easy measurement.
As for buns, I usually see them in packages of 6, although the question still stands. No idea though.
but hey, you're partway there.
As Steve Martin raved in the movie “Father of the Bride”, it’s a conspiracy!
The stores around here always sell hotdog buns in packages of 8. If you get the hoagie style buns they come in packages of 6 meant for making sandwiches.
There are certainly more hotdogs in a hotdog packet than buns in a bun packet, but I would think that since they come from very different types of suppliers this is not a case of collusion to get you to buy more buns. The buns are better fresh whereas you can freeze unused hotdogs. I think it is just one of those things that has no reason.
To make sure that you do not eat all the hotdogs at once, you glutton! :)
Because the hot dog industry is just plain mad mannnN!!!!!!! Haha..j/k. I wish I did know the real answer.... :-/ :P
watch the movie BULLETPROOF MONK, it will help you
Not every wiener wants to go between the buns.
To gap you out when you are stoned out of your skull with the munchies!
I have never seen a pagkage of hotdogs with only 8 in it. I think here they all have 12.
BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT ONLY WHITE PEOPLE WILL END UP BUYING ANOTHER PACK OF BUNS AND MAKE MORE MONEY WHEN BLACK PEOPLE LOOK AT THE PRICE OF THE BUNS AND KEEPIN WALKING DOWN THE AISLE AND FIND A LOAF OF BREAD FOR $.97.
