In terms of religion, it doesn't change anything. Herod's life was already well documented historically. Archeologically, it's a major discovery.

Nothing? I don't know what difference it makes one way or the other. There are people and places they have records of in archeology and there are people and places they don't. Many people and places have been found through the use of the Bible because it has been found to be accurate as to place and time.
