  • Well, in my opinion, Vista is unnecessary, and broken. It doesnt support many games, and the drivers and networking parts of Vista are a bit dodgy. I reccomend you keep your copy of Vista until they release a service pack or two, and there are patches available that make it safe, useable and usefull. Unless you just LOVE Purdy things, and can't wait : ) AND like moose said, it is very resource hungry. Ill use Vista when I have to, and only when i have to. XP is so good, why change?
  • depends on how much RAM you have personally i think for it to run smoothly you will need at least 2gb of RAM.
  • You know, not everyone is having issues with Vista. That doesn't mean I endorse it completely. My recommendation to you would be this: Get yourself a program like Ghost, that creates an image of your PC in its current, working state. An external USB hard drive is perfectly suited to this. If you don't have one of these, it's a good investment - because you always need backups. Once you have a working image that you can go back to if Vista doesn't work out, install Vista. Make another image - just in case you want to get back to this point as an alternative. Let me be clear, I know Vista isn't the best version of Windows in the world, but neither was XP before SP1. Everyone needs to make up their own mind - with a safety net in place of course.
  • Vista stinks!!!! I hate it!!! I want to get it off my computer and put XP back on. I have all the upgrades and everything Dell says I'm suppose to have and it still does not work. It let's me go onto certain web pages but does not let me open certain files on these pages. It won't read files. It tells me CD's are blank when they are full of files, it erases all my files on CD's. I HATE IT WITH A PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
