yes years ago in the early 80's, I also heard that they are in hot dogs, sodium eureathbates or something like that big word. Ground up earth worms to make the meat stretch
-
No... I'm glad I don't eat there.... haha
-
Bonus - real meat at last.
-
No I never heard that one - I heard that chinese used cats
-
http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/wormburg.asp false
-
Nah, but I heard the Taco Bell & roaches one. About the lady who got roach eggs in her taco that embedded in her mouth and hatched. haha. I doubt that's true, but it's disgusting.
-
Probably false. It makes the beef look that much better doesn't it? - After seeing a slaughter house - no thanks ... Vegitarian is the way to go:)
-
i haven t been in a macdonalds in years, the last time that i had gone in it was around ten in the morning or so and i asked for a hamburger,i was told NO,that i would have to have their egg mcmuffin or some other breakfast item.i just walked out and walked down the street and got my hamburger somewhere else.
-
No but have you herd the one about KFC and the geneticlly modified mutants they use as chicken?
-
How stupid. HOW do things like that get started?!
-
Yes and I heard the same thing about Wendy's.
-
I have not heard that. I have heard that earthworms are a delicacy. All meat, no fat.
-
No but there was a story about one of the McDonalds in my area. A lady bought chicken nuggets for her kid or something and found one of the nuggets to be a fried chicken head. Not sure if its true or not.
-
I stopped eating at mickey d's when i caught the cook picking his nose while preparing food. I cancelled my order and left but not after informing the entire customer section. I never seen the place empty out so fast.
-
Saturday Night Live did a bit on this during Weekend Update. The bit was that McDonald's had issued a press release stating that it was not true that they used worms to up the protein in their burgers, but where unable to explain why when a burger was cut in half, each half crawled away in a different directions.
-
Never heard that before! but, The claim that McDonald's is the world's largest purchaser of cow eyeballs shares roots with many other "beware of fast food" legends; in this Eyeball particular case the sentiment is of the "huge fast food corporations only care about profits, so they'll put anything they can (legally) get away with in their food to save money" variety. Similar expressions of this anxiety have resulted in widespread tales about McDonald's making hamburgers from worm meat, using chicken feathers in their shakes, and even purchasing food supplies from a company named "100% Beef" so that they can put any old dreck in their burgers while still legitimately advertising that they use "100% Beef products." But there is something in their meat that makes my stomach rumble everytime I eat there, nowhere else,go figure eh!
-
No, I haven't heard it, but if you hum a few bars I'll try to sing along! (insert sound of rimshot)
-
..and this is the exact way politicians spread, by innuendo and rumor, lies about other politicians. You are not exactly accusing McDonalds of doing this..but you are putting out in the universe the question. Have you ever worked for a McDonald's Restaurant? In what timeframe is this supposed to have occurred? I worked for a Franchise owner for 12 years..I never heard of such a thing. Dollars to doughnuts (or in this case, Big Macs) this is the doing of competitors...or this is just a pie-in-the-sky whimsical "what-if"! :)
-
Its ok, The deep fried chicken heads love McWorm's.
-
I heard it back when i was like 12 and i believed it.lmao.
-
I had never heard about the myth of worms being in hamburger (unless the cow ate a worm). But its true that McDonalds uses (or used) mechanically seperated chicken. This is a situation where a chicken arives at a factory, and leaves in a can. (Anyone like Vienna Sausages) A mechanically seperated chicken is the leftover from cutting off breasts, thighs, ect. The company then throws the "parts" into a GRINDER!!! The bones, skins, and everything else is grinded to a pulp and made into things like hotdogs (now you know). PB!!!
-
No but I've often wondered what the special sauce was.
-
I've heard that,I'm sure it's not true, but who cares anyway. It tastes good. I did hear that there meat grade was actually lower than the grade of meat used in dog food!
-
Nope never heard that one but I did hear about the ketchup thing with maggots in the bottom. Did I spell maggots right?
-
Never heard that one. My mom used to tell me that the hamburgers were horse meat though.
-
I have not heard that, i heard that about Wendy's I have stoped eating at fast food places. Especialy Hamburgers, a kid at my sons school almost died from eating a Hamburger at McDonalds. He got Ecoli. It was so sad. It is so scary to eat out anymore, let alone at the grocery stores. Everything seems to be contaminated.
-
I have never heard that specifically, but it is true that there are a certain number of parasites allowed in food products as per USDA regulations and it is up to the restaurant to ensure that they are killed before serving. So I doubt that it is a matter of McDonald's sending its employees out to dig for earthworms to put in the happy meals, but there may be a grain of truth.
-
No but I heard this little ditty a time or two. McDonald's is your kind of place They serve you rattlesnakes French fries between your toes Hamburgers up your nose
-
As pointed out by Snopes this myth is actually a little silly, if you really think about it. Just imagine how much more it would cost to buy enough worms to make meat patties out of than to just buy beef.
-
i have heard soy... but worms sounds like a stretch... maybe someone did who knows?
-
No, that's so gross. I've always been suspicious of their meats though. I try not to look to close to them when I eat it. :]
-
yes that is true,,it is used as a filler is is high in protien,,i have eaten several!!!
-
It comes from their use of sodium erythorbate, which was thougtht to contain earthworms. It is actually used in tandem with nitrate as a preservative, and is made from sugars such as beet or cane. However, I personally believe McDonald's burgers taste nothing like beef, so, I don't think it is hard to believe a worm may taste that bad!
-
The version I heard was that woman in the news found pin worms in her burger because the meat was under cooked. Eeewwwwwwwww....
-
Added protein? ;-)
-
No. But I heard it's rats.
