Yes, actually once I was on a plane that was circling an airport waiting to land because of a storm and we almost ran out of fuel. I suppose it wasn't too close but it still made me nervous!

I ALWAYS BECOME ANXIOUS WHEN TRAVELING. MORE SO NOWADAYS THAT ITS NOT JUST ME BUT MY 3 KIDS. WHEN I FLY I CONSTANTLY FEAR A PLANE CRASH AND AM THANKFUL WHEN I LAND. WHEN I GO ON ROAD TRIPS I CONSTANTLY WORRY ABOUT BLOWOUTS AND LOSING CONTROL ITS WEIRD, BUJT ALWAYS ON MY MIND AND I DO INDEED BECOME VERY SPIRITUL AT THESE TIMES.

Yes, worst case situation came true. My passport was stolen at an airport a couple of weeks before traveling Japan. I reported it as stolen and submitted my paperwork. I was told that I would be allowed to travel without it as long as I had another government issued ID. Well, my driver's licence expired the day before I had to fly out, and I didn't notice until I got to the airport. So, my name was on a no-fly list, I had no legal ID, I had two laptops (one of which had pictures from an Air Force base in the US that I had just finished work at). So, yes, I did have to bend over and do the security thing as far as you imagination can take it.

Yeah, got (very politely) mugged in Bangkok once - and left 3 hours walk from the hotel, with no idea what direction to head, in a 'non-tourist' part of the city where no-one spoke english. Got back to the hotel okay, but learned to respect Bangkok! P.S. It's an amazing, freaky, almost alien city. Highly recommended.

Yes I wonder if my house is being robbed while I'm gone.
