  • No, you don't but I would strongly recommend that you have the trustee of the ira plan send for the money from the annunity plan that way there is not even a 1099 R created. And it's safer since you do not put even one little finger on the money/check! It;s too easy to 'forget' you have the check and slip up on the 60 days, which the IRS is NOT forgiving on!
