  • 22 years!! no just kidding.. I dont think children (under 16) should have adult "friends" (over 21)
  • There is no such thing as too big an age gap in friendship. I'm really good friends with someone who is young enough to be my kid (and in fact, whom I consider to be my second son) and I think I can safely say that we're best friends (he has a couple his own age who are his very very best friends). Friendship transcends age and certainly male/female. That's why it's so great. :)
  • Nothing. There should be no age set on friendship. I have plenty of friends far older and younger than myself, and it does not matter. There is a difference between friendship and manipulation, therefore the 'friendships' between abusers and their victims of course does not count. I feel that we should be judged by others on the content of character, not age.
  • it depends. if you are under ten id say like 14 if you are still in high school id say no more then 20 and if you ar 18 or over then there really is no limit.
  • Since we all needs friends, I don't think age-gaps apply. I am 48 and I have friends as young as 15 and as old as 80.
  • In my mind there is no such thing. Most probably the tastes and likes of those two persons won't be the same, but they could have appreciation for one another and common interests that can overcome that.
  • really, i myself say that there is no age gap, like everyone else said, age shouldn't be a factor in befriending a person, unless its like an 11 year old and a 30 year old type thing... then its just creepy...
  • Well if you've ever watched Last of the summer wine, you'll find it does not really matter.I mean there are age gaps of up to (and occasionaly beyond) 30 years.Eli and Smiler look the same age, when in fact Eli is 25 years older than Smiler, for example. But still i would say nothing beyond 50 years. How would it be possible anyway,i've never heard of that kind of age gap.But anything up to 49 years is AOK.
  • After a certain age, there isn't one. but a 21 year old hanging out with 14 year olds is a bit odd.
  • i don't know. my church mommy is one of my best friends, i've known her since i was 7, i'm 19 now and she's in her early 40's. she's taken me shopping, i helped paint the house and choose remodeling decorations, we've had dinner and fiestas. yes, we're friends. that's a pretty big age dif to me.
  • i don't believe that there's such a thing as too big an age-gap among friends ... that shouldn't even be an issue at all ... it is friendship we're talking about afterall ... it bridges all gaps! ;-)
  • If it feels to big and you can't relate. Otherwise, it shouldn't matter.
  • It depends. If both of you are over 18 don't think there should be such a thing as too big of an age gap. Look at us. I'm 27 years older than you yet I consider you a great friend as well as unofficially adopted AB Daughter Rottie. While I am sure we don't have too much in common because of the age difference there is one thing we do share in common and that is our love and devotion to the Savior and his Gospel so nothing elses really matters to me. Also Rottie I am not sure if you were aware but the person I am very much attracted to is about 22.5 years younger than me and I used to care about the difference. However the more I get to know her the less I care that I am old enough to be her father. She is in so many ways alot like my beautiful Edna and that is all I care about.
