  • Sneaking into general usage is the slang word "chav", which also means "kev" (another slang), which in turn means "townie" (YET more slang)... Basically a chav is somebody who dresses in sportswear, wears a Burberry cap at all times, even in doors, hangs around inappropriate places all day, drives a souped up Vauxhall Nova, and is generally a prat. www.chavscum.co.uk is a hearty tribute to all the Chavs of inner-city England - you can even find a guide on how to Spot A Chav on the very same site. :) It's not quite Oxford English Dictionary-worthy... Yet.
