Question

Help answer this question below.

Why is there so much "Mormon" talk on here? Am I right that this site is some sort of cult? Aren't Mormons not supposed to use technology, like the Amish? Is the water in Utah polluted?

    No, You're not right.
Questions about religion are very common here, including the mormon religion.
I think you need to be more careful on the way you present your questions, though.
In my opinion everyone deserves respect in their beliefs, whether you agree with them or not.

    Wow… there’s a lot in that question.

    1) There’s so much “Mormon” talk on here because some people want to know about the Church of Jesus Christ, some are happy to teach these people about the Church, and some others want to drag it down. Thus, like any religion, it becomes controversial.

    2) No, Answerbag is not some sort of cult—at least, not as far as I know.

    3) No, Latter-day Saints are strongly encouraged to use technology. Perhaps you’re thinking of the isolationist Protestant groups whose ancestors were excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ, a century or so ago?

    4) I’m sure some of the water in Utah is polluted, but I doubt any more than anywhere else. (And for the record, most members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints don’t even live in the United States, let alone Utah.)

    HTH!

Wow, this question floors me. I'm sorry Scarlet, but you really don't know much about Mormons. But that isn't stopping you from having a very strong oppinion about them I see.

THere is a lot of religious talk on AB. Mormons embrace technology, It's a great way to keep track of geneology too (which mormons happen to be big into). As far as your water question goes, I think you should maybe try not to be so ignorant, sites like AB are for people to find and give answers to questions people are honestly curious about.

1 - mormons have the highest per capita income of any religious group in the united states (as of 1993). they also tend to be well educated. smart, they talk.
    .
    2 - no
    .
    3 - no
    .
4 - yes. so is your water and my water. that's why we have treatment plants to add chemicals that kill off all of the bacteria so you and i don't drink deadly water. utah waters have less bacteria than many other places in the usa.

I think these free expression sites are just what religious zealots are looking for. Much easier than trying to approach, convice, etc., in front of the supermarket. Just ignore 'em.
