I had a similar problem except my front wouldn't work and the back flashed quickly. If I tilted the steering wheel up it would start working. The cause was the wire plug that plugs into the multifunction switch (turn signal unit). The metal connectors on the wires are held in the plug by small plastic clips and a couple were broke which caused the connectors to work their way out of the plug. So I used some 5 min. epoxy and glued the connector back in the plug. It has fixed it for now.
