WHY WILL MY COMBINATION VCR / DVD PLAYER PLAY VHS TAPES FINE, BUTT WILL ONLY PLAY THE SOUND ON DVD"S WITH NO PICTURE?

you may have the video rca jack plugged into the wrong place.
