  • First its SaTAN not saTIN - Satin is a material, Satan is a rebellious angel who wanted God's Position (to be God). There are a great many myth-conceptions on what sin is. Unfortunately the myth-conception of who and what Satan is contributes to the problem. Satan did not teach man to know sin, man learned sin by eating of the tree of knowledge. A colorful way of saying that man learned between right and wrong, that knowledge comes with the price of choice between doing right and wrong. Knowledge between right and wrong determines sin. Man could have murdered, raped, robbed and been basically an animal he was sinless until he understood or had knowledge between right and wrong. Satan told Eve, you will be like unto gods if you eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. This does not mean we would have super human powers, it means simply that we would know and understand the difference between right and wrong, be able to understand when we are "breaking the rules" that knowledge is a god like power. In fact that is the real thing that separates us between the beasts and us.
  • If you read the bible, Satan was actually one of us in the beginning...He did not agree with gods plan to make everyone flesh and formed a rebellion. God banished him from the kingdom of heaven and was told that he would have to live in the firey pits of eternity(aka Hell). Man creates sin...god nor satan does.
  • God created a good angel with free will...Satan used that free will in the wrong way and sought worship for himself... He offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world for one act of worship. Of course, Jesus refused...and said... (Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” Jesus never said it is ME you should worship...making it clear that he, Jesus, is NOT God himself. And would Satan offer kingdoms to the one who created him? But Satan DID...to Jesus... Sin, after all, means to fall short of perfection...
  • Because for an omnipotent, omniscient God (all powerful, all knowing), he seems prone to making a lot of mistakes. And not of the "oops" variety, but rather the "Holy Shit!" variety. "Men rarely (if ever) manage to dream up a God superior to themselves. Most Gods have the manners and morals of a spoiled child." -Robert A. Heinlein "History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it." - Robert A. Heinlein Hope this helps.
  • He who drinks gets drunk He who gets drunk sleeps He who sleeps commits no sin He who commits no sin goes to heaven So let's all get drunk and go to heaven! It's up to you to interpret the bible and any other religious teachings as you see fit - please don't expect me to take it all too seriously though ;0)
  • God did not create Satan. Satan was an angel who rebelled against God's will. Nothing sinful in nature comes from God. God is pure.
  • Yep. He created it ALL (John1), even Satan and his rebellion. Satan is the father of sin because he rebelled against God desiring himself to be God. (IS 14). All of this before our first parents hit the scene.
  • Using THIS kind of logic: Should the PARENTS of all murders, rapist, theives, etc, be punished the crimes of their children--seeing as they (the parents) are the "creators" of the children, who ultimately committed the crimes??
  • Satin is the father of my sheets
  • not really Satan was after all an angel who defied God, leading to his exile it is said that God wanted man to live in Eden, Satan tempted man and then gloated to God that he destroyed his plans and creation In the terms of theological study this is when God decreed the concept of free will If it didn't happen it would create the paradox that God who is infailable, failed because his creation choose a path that wasn't his command this all ties into the zen concept of yin and yang there has to be a balance in all things, even between good and evil Peace is a great concept, but won't ever happen this balance tips toward one side or the other at times which in history has been linked to the fall of civilization or horrible natural disasters
  • Your talking about the ancients mapping of human behavior; God and Satan is just imaginary figure heads that represent the two different energies in a person, creative and destructive, people need both. its hard for most people to understand chess without the board and chess pieces.
  • SATAN. Satin is the fabric.
  • Although satin sheets might be the downfall of some, I don't think satin is anymore sinful than silk or acetate.
  • sin has always been there , used first by satin , then at our creation. god and his infinite wisdom could have more than easily stopped satin from getting anywhere near us but remember that you are just as likely to be angry as you are to be happy in life. anger is a sin but a feeling gelousy is a sin and also a feeling, in a way , sin is a tool god uses to see if we deserve eternal salvation. satin was gods creation. all men are created equal god gives us all tools and we need to chose which ones to use , not only that but we need to use them as well. mortality is the ultimate test and is eternally worth the hardships of humanity. God gave us guidelines, laws if you will. now imagine the world today with laws, but without police, or any kind of law enforcement. only the ones who know the evil they do and regret every ounce of it can even think of salvation, only those whose first priority is avoiding temptation and anger, whose silent goal in life is eternal happiness for not only himself, but for everyone who deserves it, who if condemned, would walk his due path knowing it means heaven would be a better place can achieve salvation. • It is important to know the meaning of the word " sin ". It is not only what we do wrong but also means...a falling short of perfection'. So DID God create imperfection? the answer is here... (Genesis 2:16-17) And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.” Adam and Eve were creted perfect. When they disobeyed, they became imperfect...or in other words...sinful... If they had not disobeyed, they would have remained perfect...or sinless... And the fact that every person since Adam and Eve has eventually died, means that death is inherited... Only Jesus was created perfect. Yet he paid with his perfect life to have death removed from us... but should everyone benefit? You never reward bad behaviour... So a world without death...or sickness...is a reward
  • Because it's so silky smooth.
  • Sprituality vs. Religion according to me.... SPIRITUALITY: "When asked where God is, people point towards the sky or some far and distant region; no wonder then that He does not manifest Himself! Realize that He is in you, with you, behind you, and all around you; and He can be seen and felt everywhere." Satya Sai Baba RELIGION: 11. Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money. George Carlin
  • I never heard of Satan being the 'father' of anything. If 'sin' creates separation from God and Satan as the fallen 'I can do it better' angel wants to separate us from God, then encouraging sin seems to be his best option. If you think of sin as being anti-God, godless, the opposite of what the creator plans, then its the opposite of God's very existence, not just the opposite of what he created. God, then, is the opposite of sin - asking which came first, God or Sin, is like asking the one about the chicken and the egg, and wondering who 'made' sin is about the same as wondering who made God. I don't suppose that helps, one jot.
