PS2 is designed to play DVDs of it's respective origin only. If the DVD is a game then it has to be from europe to be able to run. Otherwise If you have purchased it from Pakistan, then you probably will have to get the regional code broken from any PS2 vendor in Pakistan. Until then any games bought will have the same message i.e. "No data".

I had this problem also because my brother bought a ps2 from pakistan last summer. the dvds in pakistan are mostly in vcd format. the ones in europe, however, are in regular dvd format. because of this difference, the ps2 you have wont play dvds unless they are in the original dvd format that it is made to play along with ps1 and of course ps2 games. hope this helps!!

hi dear i dont know complete procedure but know very much that, u have to go any game shop and ask them to set a chip in that console. then u will be able to play that DVD. it will take not more than 5 mins to set that console. cheers

It's a different zone. You need to get it worked out to read both dvds from that zone and your zone. I think that it may involve installation of a chip. Check with the closest place that deals with PS2s and a place that deals with dvd player repairs may be able to help also. A PS2 is after all partly a dvd player.
