Well, it's a pretty long story, but from what I know, the Japanese broke the peace treaty with the US by attacking Pear Harbor by surprise in December 1941 and the US retaliated, thus beginning a series of attacks. Of course, the Japanese sided with the countries that fought against the US in the WWII and refused to surrender, therefore forcing the US to drop the bomb in Hiroshima in August 1945 and, if I'm not mistaken, 5 days later they dropped another atomic bomb in Nagasaki. These were civilian cities and thousands died. Of course, I'm making a very long story short, but this is pretty much what happened from what I understand. I'm sure there are a lot of facts that I left out but there's only so much I can write here. And I know this mostly by the fact that, besides loving History, I actually lived in Japan for 6 years and visited Hiroshima, including the bomb site and all the monuments and the Museum of the Peace. If you ever have a chance,I encourage you to go there someday. I guarantee you, it's worth it! Well, I hope I helped.
