  • I can't tell you without looking, but I say go to AutoZone, they will hook up a machine to your car and it'll read the codes from the light. Then they can tell you what the deal is, and they'll do the diagnostic test for free in the parkinglot.
  • What kind of car is it? Does the car seem different when the light comes on? If it really bothers you, you should take it to a mechanic. If you do not want to pay for a mechanic and your car has an OBD II port (cars newer than 1996 have these), you can diagnose it yourself. You can rent or buy an OBD II scanner from an autoparts store (retail around $60). You plug the scanner into the port with your car off, then turn your key in the start position (just before you actually start the engine, when all electronics are on). The code scanner will read the codes and give them to you. You can then go to: http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/ and check the codes to see what is wrong. From there you can make the choice to take it to a mechanic (knowing what is wrong is nice in this situation), or if it is something you think you can fix, go for it.
  • I had this happen to me before I blew the head gasket. Try running the car for a while with the radiator cap loose (so the preasure doesn't build up). If that's the case, you will have to back flush your engine and clear out what is blocking it.
  • im having the same issue with my geo storm. If you find out what it is please share.
