Aside from repairable damage, like a connector coming loose, etc., this is likely a fatal fault. Hard drives are not as robust as we think they are and physical shock from a drop is at the top of the list of things that can permanently damage a hard drive. If the data on the drive is extremely important, you can send it off to data recovery experts, who can often extract most of the data by putting the drive platters in a special drive, but this procedure costs thousands of dollars. Here is an example of why backups are so important.
