  • Why are you more obsessed with Jesus than the G-d fearing Jesus lovers on this site?
  • not all christians believe that Jesus was a blood sacrifice. For the most part only fundamentalist and conservatist hold the blood sacrifice/atonement viewpoint of the crucifixion. (and believe it or not they do not make up the majority of christians, they are just the most vocal) this page gives some good info http://thecross-photo.com/Some_Christians_cast_Crucifixion_in_new_light_by_Susan_Hogan-Albach.htm
  • Then there would be no teachings from Christ, the Bible, nothing us humans could grasp. So i think he sent his son Jesus to teach us and give us hope.
  • It is a testiment to God's nature. God, long ago, set a precept in motion that would determine the cost for salvation to be an unblemished sacrifice. He, by sending His only son, showed by example that He loves us enough to make the ultimate sacrifice for all, and for all time. The example of God's love for us that Jesus represents on the cross is a powerful one. One that has taught us what true love is, like no other. It is written, "By one man (Adam) sin came into the word, so, also, by one man (Christ) should righteousness come." A sacrifice had to be made for the remission of sins. What your missing is that the sacrifice was needed in order for a righteous and all seeing, all knowing, and all powerful God to forgive mankind (yes, we've been that bad). Before Christ, a yearly sacrifice was made for all those that wanted forgiveness for their sins. In order to get that forgiveness, it was necessary for them to be pressent for that sacrifice. Faith in Christ is merely a means by which we make ourselves present for His sacrifice.
  • That is a very complicated issue to discuss in such a forum, but I can give you a brief summary if you'd like.(this is purely an opinion) Let's compare God to a parent and humanity to a child. If the parent gives the child everything he wants and doesn't expect the child to earn it, or if it doesn't cost the child anything to obtain, that child will grow up believing that that is how things should be and will never appreciate anything. He will be selfish and self-centered and will be unhappy his whole life. God realizes that anything obtained without effort or cost is essentially meaningless to a person. So he paid the ultimate price for us, so that we would see how important it is for us to make an effort to follow his ways, and that he has our best interests at heart. If he had just erased the sin, then humanity would grow up to be a disappointed spoiled child incapable of having feelings for each other or for God. We would all be Paris Hilton.
  • How would He be a just, good, and righteous God if He let sin get away with without being paid for? -In the service of King Jesus. Thank you and God bless you!
  • If sin was only a disagrement a difference of opinions between God and man then yes he could have said "believe in "xxxx" and your sins will be forgiven and you will go to heaven." But sin is so much more than just that. The just penalty for sin is death. not just to die today but death forever. Your death is required to pay for your sins. Unless there is a replacement, a sacrifice. But I can't die for you, my forever death is only payment for my sins. Animal sacrifice like in the old testement only cover the sin up. We had to have a perfect sacrifice, one who owed no debt so his death (his blood) could be the payment for our sins. God basicly does say "xxxx" and your sins will be forgiven and you will go to heaven. Jesus is the xxxx. Sin is the reason jesus had to die if you are really searching study about sin and the depravity of man.
  • Because God is just and sin needs to be punished/dealt with, and God is also merciful, wanting to forgive the sinner who turns back to Him. (e.g Exodus 34:6-7) So the way He justly forgives us is by becoming man and taking the punishment we deserve so that our relationship with Him could be restored. (e.g 1 Peter 3:18)
  • You're right, He is that powerful and merciful, just repent and you're forgiven, and sins are not inheritable, you're only responsible for your own actions not your fathers' It makes much more sense to believe in a God who is powerful enough to be able to forgive us all without any need for sacrifice or bloodshed than the confusing and contradicting doctrine of God was born as a human crying baby who grew up to be beaten and tortured to death by His own creation in order to forgive us for a sin our ancestors committed and not us "In blasphemy indeed are those that say that God is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against God, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth? For to God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For God hath power over all things." (The Quran 5:17)
  • If God didn't send Jesus to die there would forever be a wall between us and God and we would go to hell even if we were good or bad. John 3:16-17 says: for God so loved the world he sent his one and only son that whoever beleives in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son to condem the world but to save the world through him.
