Most people can achieve this through comparrison of someone worse off than them, but I don't think that really works for life in general, just your own. Recognising the millions of oppertunities open to you helps. Doing something new or that you love each day leads to a more fulfilling life, and therefore more positive. Sometimes just letting yourself reast knowing that the rest of the world is going by can give you a sense of calm happiness. Positive outlook really tends to be an optimism regarding people and the future. The best way to achieve that is to have a positive change in yourself, galantly (and slightly oddly) displayed by my personal hero a Mr Danny Wallace, who does an array of bizarre but entertaining things to make his and other people's lives better. Read the Yes man and Join Me for some idea of what I am talking about. Personally I think optimism is over-rated. When you are pesemistic, it can help you to appreciate the good things that come more and reduce disappointment. That can't be all bad

To be honest, at the moment I feel im going absoutlely nowhere and I'm wasting each day. However I do have two of the best friends anybody could have and focusing on that makes everything seem perfect and right. I would suggest finding something positive in your life and think how fortunately you are to have that. It makes it right in the end
