I'm canadian. I hear not-so-nice things about americans basically every day, especially living in a border city. Yankee's (I think that one is pretty widely knows) Sheep Robots Rednecks It's weird that it takes me less than 10 minutes to drive from my country to the U.S, yet the people here have so many negative things to say.

Yanks. And 'americans'... not meaning anybody from the continent of either n or s america, but anybody from the US. If I want to talk about south americans, I put the south bit in there, and if I want to talk about canadians, I say canadians, despite them being in north america. English.

Though an American, I've worked internationally much of my life, and traveled the globe. My direct experience in and with citizens from over 100 countries confirms that every people in the world calls us "Americans" -- however spelled and/or pronounced and/or inflected with the necessary suffix (e.g., Americano, Americanski, KonAmeriga [that's Thai for: Thai for "a Thai" is KonThai and "a Laotian" is KonLao])... though some prefer to use slang terms for us, most notably the Brits (who like to call us "Yanks". No one but leftist PC University Professors in the Spanish Department and their pupils call us "Norte Americanos" (North Americans) ... a stupid (and totally invented) designation in the first place, as Panamanians, Mexicans,Belizeans, Costa Ricans, Nicaraguans, Guatemalans, Salvidorans, Hondurans and Canadians are also from North America. I've never met anyone in Latin America who called themselves "Americans/Americanos" or us "North Americans/Norte Americanos" ... and I've known hundreds from every country and region from Baja to Tiera del Fuego.
