    Humans can't because their eyes cannot recieve the wavelengths that all into the infrared and electromagnetic spectrun. However, I believe that dogs are able to see in the infrared region.

    Our eyes evolved to see the light emitted by our sun. Our sun's light is most intense in the "visible" part of the electromagnetic spectrum (see graphic). So our eyes evolved to catch the brightest colors of light available.
