G'day VisitorGuest, Thank you for your question. I don't believe that ghosts or God exists. Put another way, I don't believe in ghosts, holy or otherwise. :>) Regards

i've seen enough things in my life to believe ghosts exist, but the bible and other things have to many contradictions for me to believe in god.

Niether really truly exist, in a spiritual sense they do, however many people have been witness to mirage type apparitions that have been accused of being ghosts or poltergeist. Many can be explained, others are a mystery unto this day. It is simple to understand the logic of your Q, why do people see ghosts and not a given diety, so I will explain my theory of ghosts as best I can. The chance of seeing a ghost is quite more common than seeing an angel or diety. Well their are many deciding factors which determine your chance of seeing a ghost. I do believe in ghosts and have witnessed one first hand when I was a young boy, I went through a real life haunting. As I grew up, I came to understand metaphysical science and theory, I read many books on the subject of ghosts and the occult, out of more curiosity than anything, I have an inquiring mind. An eviroment most likely to be home to a ghost usually has a strong metaphysical energy or aura. When you see a ghost what you are seeing is a person's imprint on the spacetime continuem, at least that is what I believe to be accurate. I believe they are images and fingerprints of past lives, meta energy that was imprinted on that enviroment under some type of energy-emotional bonding or connection. It's not really where as much as it is when. Confused? You have to understand more than just the meta science, but it's all interconnnected with the natural and physical sciences as well. As everything in our universe has the capacitor to store energy, we are all surrounded by photons and electrons and atoms vibrating at high to very low rates of speed, we are all a vibration in the spacetime continuem, literally, time travellers, if you will allow me to humor the idea... and sometimes we leave a part of ourselves behind, most of these ghosts have had a very strong emotional connection when they were alive and imprinted it on the past with so much emotional conviction that it left the impression behind to vibrate into our present day. The life span of these impressions or vibrations can last upto 200 years before they fade into the vastness of history, and the meta energy disapates. Humans sensory perception, such as eye sight for example, can explain why some see ghosts, and others do not; We see in the Blue spectrum and are traveling to the Red spectrum in our evolution. As humans evolve, if we manage to exist that long without making ourselves extinct, will eventually be able to see things in a differant light, and become more perceptable to things that right now, cannot be percieved, because we have only gotten so far in our evolution. This is what I have come to terms with through my own research on the subject of poltergeist and ghosts, I hope you enjoyed it.

I believe that sometimes an 'imprint' of a person or a certain behaviour is sometimes left behind by the dead, but I think it's more of a disturbance of matter than the person's actual soul (and yes, this is all pseudoscience) - something I suppose others would call a ghost. And no, I do not believe in God - from the life that I have lead and the things that I have witnessed, I honestly don't believe 'he' or any deity exists - they're all human constructions.

What would be the Holy Ghost if it were not God?

Ghost sitings can always be chocked up to: (1) Psychosis (2) Bizarre dream-like states, for instance in sleep paralysis, where the subconscious mind can continue to work to produce vivid hallucinations a short time after waking in a paralyzed state temporarily. (3) Areas of strong electromagnetic fields have strong effects on human cognition (because our brains are electrical systems), and can induce hallucinations in otherwise mentally healthy people. This effect has been experimentally verified, and indeed, many places that are prone to ghost sitings have strong electromagnetic fields, either due to human wiring, or natural features of the materials the sites are built with. (4) Unverifiable fraud. In all cases where we don't have answers, it is usually because the answers have not been pursued yet, likely because the case doesn't seem strong enough to investigate. Our intelligence is primarily pattern recognition. We're really really good at it, and computers are just starting to catch up, but fast. However, one problem with pattern recognition is that sometimes, the brain can be TOO good, and see patterns that aren't there. A very non-paranormal is the fact that humans are prone to see human facial patterns that are in fact random - and even in this obvious case of the brain working overdrive, some see Jesus's face, etc. Personally, I think another good example of this is the constellations. Some of them are REAL stretches - and most I can't see at all. If those aren't proof that humans see patterns that aren't there, sometimes perverting the game of connect-the-dots to ludicrous proportions, I don't know what is. Finally, about belief in a god or gods, and belief in an afterlife - there is no evidence of either of these things, and furthermore, they are poorly or completely undefined, which means by definition no evidence can be found (you can't look for something if you don't even have a definition for your otherwise empty word). Belief in these undefined "vague" concepts results from people (1) not wanting to "really" die and be nothing, and (2) wanting to be special in the grand scheme of things, if not special individually, special as a species, or at least that consciousness is a special phenomenon. Everything in the universe screams out that it doesn't exist for us, and is completely indifferent to our every hope and dream. This can be liberating, as we realize we need to create meaning and purpose for ourselves, and also in that we don't feel the burden all the time of being on that pedestal we built for ourselves.

Yes, I believe ghosts exist and no, I don't believe that god exists.

I believe ghosts exist and I don't believe that a god exists (though not necessarily the God in Christianity). I'm not actually sure about my religion...I tend to accept different concepts if different religions, including Shinto, Dao (Taoism), Confucianism, Buddhism, Mahayana , Marxist, Tibetan Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism and yes, even Christianity.

I believe both exist and mainly answering your question to rate it up as it should not have been down rated. good question in my opinion.
