At the age I am right now "Older" than most here - I have a few it surprised me but doesn't bother me

I'm 30 and I get grey eyebrow hairs (and have done for about 5 years). I do get the odd one on my head occasionally as well, but not enough to say that I am going grey at this point. My 33 year old brother (on the other hand) is >50% grey and has been since he was about 25.
EDIT
I forgot to answer if it bothered me, it does not as it is not apparent to others, at 30 if it increased a lot I would probably dye my hair (as I am a dark brunette female).

Not yet! But then I haven't gone through each strand to check. Besides, my hair is so fine it would be hard to find ONE gray hair. I'd have to see a small clump before I noticed grays!

When I was much younger, I noticed that my grandparents had it. At that time, i noticed that lots of older people had it, and then I noticed that my parents were getting it! As for me personally, I can still count indivually the number of grey hairs I have - sometimes I think I see a little streak of grey, but noone else seems to be able to notice it! My brothers all have more grey hair than I do - (I am currently 45)

I was in my early 30s and no, I didn't have kids who gave them to me. I earned them all myself. My husband loved the gray hairs, he thought they were beautiful and highlighted my face, the dear sweet man:-)

I always used to have my hair highlighted blond,i have dark brown hair,i grew it out when i was 26 to find a few grey hairs,as the years went on i have a few more they are all at the front,so i dye it dark brown,i like my dark brown hair and am trying to make the most of it until it goes very grey lol

its me again - I think I was seeing things the other day. I definately found and pulled out a couple of white hairs and I was convinced that I could see loads more but I can't seems to find them all now. Phew.
I will keep checking as it is inevitable that they will appear but I have breathing space for a moment.
(I hope I haven't offended any grey haired people with my comments, as I have said before, I have nothing against other people being grey - just not me)

oh god - I found my first one today and I am mortified beacuse when looking closely, I found a load more. I am 3 months shy of my 30th birthday (which was making me feel old anyway, I am not dealing with getting older very well).
My hair is a mousey brown but the white hairs stand out a mile (to me they do anyway). I will be dying my hair at the weekend for definate. My whole family went grey at a young age so I should have expected it, but I has come as a shock. I find men with greying hair attactive but on me it is not a good look.

Started getting a few grey hairs in my late 30s. Few enough to yank them out. Can't do that anymore :-) A little girl once asked me why I had some grey hairs as her mother told her that the mom's grey hair came from having to put up with all those kids and I didn't have kids. LOL!

16, I have red hair & fair complexion. Most red heads I know get grey at an early age. I will color it as long as I can & fight it to the bitter end(or until my hair falls out). Yes it does bother me because I'm 36 & my brother is 42 & he only has like 4 greys on his whole head. He has more in his go te then he does his head.

I noticed some gray hair when I was 19. It never really bothered me, but it hasn't gotten much grayer since then either.
My mother's hair is now noticably starting to turn, and she is 56. If my hair waits until then to turn fully, I will probably be OK with it.
My aunt's hair, on the other hand, started turning in her early 40's. I don't think I would be happy with that.
I do know that although I love my extremely long hair, once it turns, I will probably cut it shorter. The new hair will be gray, but the hair hanging down to the back of my knees will be red. Having gray hair isn't odd, but THAT would look odd and bother me.

You see, I colored a stripe of my hair with sharpie since it was boring looking and I wanted to spice it up. You know how that goes. And when I took a shower it lightened up and looked gray. So no, it doesn't bother me at all. I LOVE it. Mostly because I love doing unexpected things.

Why would you be surprised? Everyone gets them eventually. Some people by age 25-30. :) Makes no difference. Besides, if you are blond like the photo, they don't show very much unless-until you get alot of them! You are lucky. Thanks. +6
