First off, they are illegal aliens, not immigrants.
I'd say the best thing to do is to stop giving them all freebies just for being here. It shouldn't be so easy to get all the tax payers money.
Second, I'm sorry bleeding hearts, but send them home when you find them. Just because you sneak a pregnant gal here doesn't mean everyone from grandma to uncle joe has a right now to move over.
Third, I think having work permits would help. Then we could track and deal with those who have no intentions of staying as a separate group than those who do want to become part of America.
Fourth, REQUIRE citizenship...PASSING citizenship for any benefit to be doled out.
Fifth, cancel programs that give freebies and discriminatory help to immigrants. We had this problem with Russian contractors in Vancouver. They would come, start and run their business tax free under a special government program...and when their time was up they would sell to a cousin and continue tax free. Wrong wrong wrong.

Get over it. We have bigger problems to work on, to be frank. It's really just an "issue" pushed by Republicans and Democrats towards November of every election year. Nothing will ever be done.

I think everyone's entitled to a better life, and if coming to the states (where I llive) offers you that, all the better. But it must be done legally.
A wall simply isn't practical. Who wants to live in a sealed country, anyway? Haven't we criticised China for that for ages?
People come here to find work and make money. If you penalize businesses for hiring illegal workers so harshly that they couldn't stay alfoat, no business would go near them. No work, no illegal immigrants. Same with social programs. If you're not here legally, you do not get them. Period. No free handouts, no illegal immigrants.
This wouldn't discourage people seeking residency or citinzenship from moving here, only from doing so illegally.

Build a wall.
Seal it tight.
Then require all resident immigrants to register, follow a revised streamlined citizen application, and lastly, deport all the convicted alien felons.

I feel that we need to stop worrying about immigrants and look at the bigger/severe problems the US is facing! Why cant they just leave immigrants alone/ at peace! These people come to the US in search of freedom, opportunity, education, etc. And who are we to judge them for wanting to live a better life.

We have certainly not tightened them up in the UK, in fact only last tuesday they had a programme about the UK bursting at the seams. Apparently the Government have completely lost track of the amount of LEGAL immigrants.
That does not give a lot of hope for this shower of fools to have any idea about the illegal aliens.

I think we have done a good job of tightening
things up. Illegals can't get driver's liscences, s.s.
numbers or i.d.'s like they did before 9/11. Only
a few people caused the problems. I think they can't

I think there should be immigration law should be pass ASAP. And there are many reason behind it. Top most reason is there is reccession in USA and after immigrtion law pass, these illegal immigrant those ework very hard will gtravel back to their country and travel agency business will boom and economy will boom.
Secondly These illegal immigrant been exploited mostly by immigratn crooks not paying them wages or min. wages or no wages or sexually harrassed and oppressed. And these immigrants are speachless, afraid to file complaint to Labor board or EEOC and don't speaks English very well same time and if they do file complaint their name will be slandered in their community and all doors will be closed for them to get another jobs in immigrant community.
Third, doing finger print of everyone, real criminal will come out whichwill make easier to catch criminal to get them deported as after 9/11 generally speaking all immigrants looked at terrorist and they been racially profiled and hated by most of Americans which is HATE CRIME.
Fourth these immigrant business owners who is sucking illegal immigrant people's blood should get punished abd persecuting them and getting them arrested if any immigrant file complaint against their criminal activities, so that way criminal immigrant business owners mask will beopend publicly and they should get deported no matter what, even they are citizens or green card holder.

First things first those borders need sealed off. I don't care how we do it just do it. Second the border patrol needs to be given the free rein to do their jobs. I mean complet free rein. If you see 'em and they don't stop shot them. Third take away any and all access to our social services from the schools to free health care. If you don't pay for it you don't get to use it. If you do you pay for it. Fourth if you find 'em first put them in prision and then send them home. I'm not talking a conty jail. I'm talking a feral one with no separation from the harder inmates. Not enouh jails? Then they can build them. Fifth any and all employers who hire them need to go t jail. I'm talking to the exact same jail we just sent their employees. I want them to also have to pay the back taxes on the illegals they owe and the diffrence between the going rate for an Americam worker and what they pay an illegal one.
Can we get two post-graduate work permits?

Probably because illegals have their own lobby group and people don't want to be seen as bullies. The fact they have their own lobby group is simply ridiculous and I'm sorry, but if someones comes into my home uninvited and insists on staying and using my home and supplies for free, I will politely ask them to leave, then I would call the cops or break out the shotgun. I don't care who you are.

I'm with you on the issue. But think its either the lobbyists of the employers who lean on DC to keep them, or DC sees this increased tax base as a way of paying social security and other bills since our population has not been reproducing much beyond the replacement rate. But if illegals are given "benefits", it defeats the purpose of having them here.

I agree with both of you. I think it's disgusting our elected officals are courting a bunch of law breakers just for votes. Yet they can't vote yet. Of course if we elect Obahma or Clinton I can see it heppening. They'll not only give amnesty, but the right to vote to everyone citizen or not. And not one of them will pay taxes for what they get in return.

They also don't get pulled over or in trouble with the law here...even if they kill someone it seems. You should see the cars here, they have eight kids jumping around in the back seats, mom is holding an infant in the front and not once have I seen them get pulled over, even when cops are right behind them. I got pulled over for expired tabs (ditzy pregnancy brains, didn't notice and didn't receive the notice because we'd moved) and they certainly checked to make sure everyone was in appropriate child restraints. The other say I say poor old uncle Jose sitting in the back of a truck in a recliner...on the highway. Tell me how that is legal. I would say busty blondes get off also, but I know a few and even they get in trouble when they do things that are really stupid. Ok, rant done. Have a wonderful weekend....and please don't mention Hilary or Obahma getting in again...makes me shudder.
