Hey Well, I have an 01 silverado and the only real problem (which is a big one) is that the entire electrical syatem has gone haywire and puts up all these warning lights. I also desperately need to get an oil change, I just never have time. In your case however, I'm wondering if maybe you need an oil change too. That might fix the roughness of it. Otherwise you said you already changed the fuel filters which I would have recommended...maybe I could suggest you look over the fuel lines to see whether there's a leak. Overall, the stalling when accelerating sounds like too much fuel is getting in and flooding the engine. A garage or (if you prefer to do it yourself) manual would help in tuning the engine...a fuel adjustment line may need to be worked on. Hopefully that will help you out some...if it does let me know :)

Check your fuel pressure, fuel pump may be giving out. Cat. converter may be plugged up.

Depending on how many miles, the timing chain and gears may need to be replaced, put a timing light on it hook to number 1 plug wire with engine running, the light will have a clamp on it. When timing light flashes point at timing marks located just above harmonic balancer(bottom pulley) on front of engine. Look for timing marks on harmonic balancer. Correct timing for these should be 0 degrees top dead center.

Could be the distributor/rotor. Sometimes the distributor gears will get worn out, particularly if it has high milage. Is it a 5.7 litre 350 ?

i hav the problem with my chevy i tried everything and it still acts the same, my mechanic told me it could be the EGR module or the harness to my PCM, try scaning it and see what codes comes up and go from there and GD luck with your ride!

Another thing to check might be your vacuum lines. A vacuum leak might cause it to run crappy.

A faulty Catalytic converter can mess a car up..........I had all the symptoms you mentioned before I had it replaced.

You should change the MAP sensor.
