What percentage of american adults hold a doctorate degree (MD, PhD, EdD, etc)?

    i agree with kelly. it's about 800,000 MDs. maybe 1.25 million ph.d.s and then about 1 million ed.d., o.d., d.o., dmd, dds, dvm ... so, maybe a hair over 1%.
