a digital hearing aid is tuned to your specific loss. so if you have troubles with low frequencies ONLY the low frequencies will be louder.
cheaper analog aids, just amplify EVERYTHING so the stuff you dont hear is louder, but so is the stuff you do hear.
I have had a digital aid for several years, I love it. Mine is a 3 channel (more $ than a 1 channel but less than a 5 channel)
