  • If gymnastics is what you really love to do its never too late!! You just cant be upset if your not the best. I dont know how good your high school team but sometimes starting at an older age its more difficult to leanr skills. But just stick with it!! Good luck!!
  • Just do what you love. I love gymnastics so much and I am 15 too. I am also very tall and inexperienced. I would try it if I were you. I will try it, actually. Thanks!
  • The ability of humans to do whatever they set their mind to should never be underestimated. Yet, many who have not done gymnastics at a young age do not understand the amount of work and effort and the large amount of time that it takes to get good at gymnastics. Even a highly talented young athlete is going to take 3 – 5 years to get really great and the average gymnast is likely to take 1 - 2 years of training to become a passable high school gymnast. There is some scientific evidence that very difficult gymnastics skills are more easily learned and much better learned at a younger age, say 8 – 11 years of age. Younger gymnasts also do not usually have any fear of doing gymnastics skills and they adapt to hard training regimens more easily. This does not mean that you cannot learn gymnastics skills at your age and high school competitions are not as demanding in terms of skill level as private club age group meets. So yes, you can still get good at gymnastics in your remaining years in high school. Just don't expect it to be come easily or to be successful your right away.
