Do you ever get to the point where you feel no emotion?

Not personally, but I have a friend who lost her son, her father, and her husband in 3 years, during the same period of time she contracted breast cancer at stage III. She is now almost emotionless. And who can blame her.

Yes... That usually happens when I am trying to get over some sort of pain, or broken heart. I push the thoughts way down, deep inside in an effort to forget. My emotions seem removed. I feel lifeless... Problem is I never really forget and when the thoughts or feelings resurface as they are bound to, I can't turn off the resulting waterworks!

I think that the time where I felt very few emotions was just before I had a very serious illness. That could happen if one repress one's emotions.

Yep - If I get over-tired or after a period of very strong emotion that kinda empties you out.

Yes , that is my present state in my own life Numbed Shock. I can feel emotion for others but am pretty dead inside on my own behalf.

No, I think emotion exists constantly and continuously until the moment we die.

Well, I suffer from depression, and I think because of that I just feel nothing... I can't even feel the anger of sadness. I just feel nothing, even when I should have other feelings like stress or excitement.

I shot a deer once (It was hunting season, and it was my first ever, about a year ago.) I got out and shot it with no emotion. I felt no real emotion toward shooting it, and when I got home, I went into this really bleak depression state. I'm now more mellow than I have ever been before. I have been a lot more cynic about life and the point of existing. I don't know if that's depression or if that is a common display of no emotion.

My fiance cheated for two years with a man i have hated since high school, and moved 18 hours away with my only child, took my money with her. i have lost 3 jobs in the 5 months we have been apart, havent gotten to see my daughter at all in those 5 months, though i still pay child support. couldnt keep up paying for my house, and any family i have lives hours away. im at the library computers writing this, and i have been spitting blood for the past couple days. Yeah emotion is not there anymore, except for hate.
