Well when I was younger and had a chest cold, etc my mother would rub me with the old stand by vicks vapour rub, front and back, then put 2 nice small soft towels in the oven, don't laugh, and just let it get nice and warm and then put it on my back and chest..oh it did make it feel so much better...and to this day i still use that remendy...u can repeat the towel warming several times, just keep an eye on it in the oven so it doesn't catch fire....lol
Plantain (which is really easy to find, since it's an invasive weed), coltsfoot, slippery elm, marshmellow (not the confection), anise tea. When I had bronchitis I drank chamomile, anise, and slippery elm teas and they helped a good deal.
