  • The Internet and the telephone are buffers for us against the real world. We tend to hide behind them and we don't really know much about the person whom we chat with. We are now free to indulge ourselves and talk about everything under the Sun. However..That tends to change when the Internet/Telephone buffer that we've unknowingly relied on is gone and we are left with stark reality; with a real person and not just a voice. In addition both of you may feel that you've built yourselves up in the eyes of the other to a point where you fear you may not be able to live up to the other person's expectations of you. I would suggest that the next time you both are chatting online or over the telephone, find out what you have in common in the way of what you like to do when you go out. Then the next time you meet, it will an activities-centered meeting and you won't have to rely on mostly your ability to converse. Later on after the ice of meeting in person has been broken, I believe that you both will be chatting away in person just as much as you do when on the Net or the phone. Best Wishes to you both!
