Would you let someone in your family cut your hair (even if they are a qualified hairdresser)?

Absolutely. Mom is a hairdresser and works out of our house. She's free :) The downside is that if she ever makes a complete mess, I'll be very upset with her.

My daughter in law is a hair dresser. I asked her once just to trim my bangs. She did, and I looked like the "Little Dutch Boy" LOL..NEVER AGAIN..I can trim them better than any family member..

Sure! My uncle went to barber school, (back in the old days), and he cut my hair for several years. Then, a family friend cut it for a while because she had her beautician license. But, my step-dad did cut it once. He butchered it so bad, I had to go to a barber shop the next day to see if they could fix it. They did the best they could do without giving me a buzz-cut. I have a 3rd grade picture with chopped up bangs to prove it.

No, Im quite paerticular about who cuts my hair. Im still not 100% confident with salon people cutting it.

Yes I would. I have actually had friends cut my hair and I've had friends and family dye it too. Even if it looks terrible - it will always grow back. I've had two really awful cuts and they were both from a salon!

No way! I learned my lesson from my sister. She held a grudge on me for almost 2 years and I had her cut my hair because I didn't have the money to get it done. And well, we'll just say she took her grudge out on my hair right before pictures for my sophmore year in school!

I let my mom do it once. It wasn't so bad. The middle had the most hair. It looked like a stupid mohawk. Argh!!

my mom got my bros hair dyed ( darkchocolate brown type) and then attempted to buzz cut it, messed up so bad afterwards no even a hairdresser couldnt fix it without shavin him bald. He was bald for a few months until it started growing back.

I doubt that I would. When I was younger my aunt would cut my split end, and never "messed up" my hair, but even then, I'm too protective of my hair to allow anyone near me with scissors in hand. Too risky, lol.

I let a (male) friend cut it once (he said he was a trained hairdresser). It was god awful! And it took six months to grow back!

My mom trims my ends all the time, however, I would never let her get creative with my hair, lol.

sure...as long as its nothing too creative, Ill probably go for them cutting my split ends or trimming my bangs....then we'll go from there.
