  • Job Corps..... It's like an unofficial prison! If I were you, I would go for a GED. Job corps is full of troublemakers and slackers. It's a place where teens are pretty much banished to when no one wants to deal with them. You can get job training, but you might be beaten to restricted to death before you ever graduate. I've known people who have gone, I have visited the campus. My friend was going to go, they told her about "opportunity" and promise..... it's not really that way. My friend was going to attend initially to join a friend herself. Her friend was beaten by others there, the instructors berated her, she HAD to drop out of it. (I went with her to visit said friend) Job Corps is a horrible place. I haven't met anyone who went that is successful, or that didn't regret the experience. Job Corps puts on a good front, they tell you all kinds of things... unfortunatley, they haven't proven true.
  • I used to work at Job Corps Center and I can tell you that Job Corps may be the key to a better future. The Guthrie Job Corps is a good one. I know a couple of people who work there. Good Luck! http://guthrie.jobcorps.gov/html/home/
  • I think you should look into it. Call the number (800-733-JOBS) to get the information packet mailed to you and to find out where your local campus is. Then read through the
