He was Austrian, not German, and was a frustrated artist that had many of his paintings rejected by galleries and exhibits he tried to get them into when he was a young man. He was also terrified of heights yet the Nazi Party had his getaway retreat built above Bertesgarten near Salzburg high in the Alps.

There is no proof that Hitler was Jewish. Some people believe he might have been, i think it was his grandmother bore a child, which was his mother i believe and the grandmother claimed that the father was a Jew. But it very well could have been that the women was lying, she was a servant in the house where the boy lived, and was paid off to leave and tell no one what happened. But if that wasn't the ironic thing, then how about the fact that he designed the first Volkswagen beetle? or the fact that he was so doped up at the end of the war that the allies actually saw him leading the German armies as an asset(there where plans to assassinate him, but he was deemed to sick to be much of a threat)? Or how about the fact he earned an Iron Cross during WWI, and it was award to him by a Jewish officer? i could go on but i wont....

He was a vegetarian and loved animals. Could not bring himself to treat human beings well but there you go. Also he had his chief architect, Albert Speer, design the Reich's important new buildings to look good once they were ruined. An important insight into the Wagnerian notion of the doomed do-gooder that inspired Hitler. Another really yucky but revealing thing: closer to the end of the war when things were going really badly, Hitler stepped up the ethnic cleansing. The killing of jews was actually ramped up in the closing weeks of the war. What a freak.

The most ironic thing about Hitler is his private presonal commpared to his public. In public he was a cruel, murdering, mad man. In private it was noted that he loved children and animals and was know to spoil both. He was also a religiously devout man who spouted athiesm to the masses. He imprissioned millions of mystics and clearvoants and other members of the occult as enimies of the state while using others to plan out his government and war campaignes. So he was just your basic nut case.

It was ironic that a visionary such as Hitler, a man who planned to turn Germany into a superpower with the best roads in Europe, the best housing, affordable transport etc., etc., and could have been a great leader was also responsible for the worst attrocities of the 20th century.

In conflict with his sense of German nationalism and racial superiority, Hitler wasn't German (he was Austrian) and may have had Jewish heritage. His own features weren't the lauded looks of an Aryan either. It almost sounds like a self-hatred complex.

I think that it is ironic that a man who was raised as a child on the message of the Christ 'to love your neighbor as yourself, became the most evil of evil human being in the 20th century. When he read the Bible Old Testament over and over again that God chose the Isralites/Jews to be His Chosen people that he chose to annialate them. For some reason, perhaps insanity, he chose the worst of evil and surrounded himself with men who sometimes were far worse. When he and his evil henchmen dreamed up the worst ways possible to anniliate the Jews, homosexuals, mentally and physically disabled and other groups, their minds were no less than that of the devil, Satan, the most evil of all evils. The women who surrounded him even when they knew that their neighbors, friends and strangers were being taken away and destroyed, were evil. After the war, all who supported him disappeared into the crowd of normal citizens even though they chose to participate in evil. I do not forgive the 'ordinary' citizens who failed to help save people in whatever way possible even if it meant the taking of their own lives...they deserved punishment and should still be grateful if they still live, that they got to survive Hitler's evil and punishment because they were silent, minded their own business while the death camps, concentration camps, the ovens for burning the bodies...and carry the belief in their innocence of those days. No matter what was ironic about Adolf Hitler and every Nazi, there is no excuse for the horror that they brought upon people.

What I think is most Ironic about hitler is, that at the battle of Dunkirk, Hitler had the Chance the crush, around 40'000 british, Canadian and French retreating soilder and most like end the war for the birtish, but he stopped his forces about 30km away. Everything about him was silly. My favorite bit is that he targeted an ARYAN race for extermination... the Gypsies. I also loved that he was mocked by Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator". Charlie Chaplin was a Gypsy. I also find it deeply ironic that ANYONE could do what he did to other people, then go home to his family life.

I've studied Hitler and his family for some time now and was surprised to find out that his father was actually born Alois Shicklgruber but later changed it to Hitler...now i believe Schicklgruber to be a Jewish name..so Adolf Hitler could have been born Adolf Shicklgruber if his father had not changed his name..so how ironic is that, a jew hating Nazi could have had a Jewish sounding name.
