Which motorcycle would be more safe to learn on the road a 2 stroke 250cc Dirt/Road or a 4 stroke 250cc Road bike?

    Definately the street bike. Dirt bikes have gear ratio's made for short fast spirts and are not good for beginners. There are some enduros out there that have a gear ratio that comes close to street and these are excellent bikes to learn on. These can be ridden in grassy fields which dont hurt as much as asphalt.

    I think you'll find the 4 stroke road bike better for learning. The center of gravity should be a bit lower, and I think the 4 stroke engines are a little less tempermental, which should make it overall more forgiving.
