Emotional strength tends to come with overiding bad experiences and being able to fight through them and come out on the other side without completely breaking down. I don;t think gender really plays much part in that

i believe that women deal with their feelings better, they are also spiritually more intouched with themselves,

they also are more likely to reach out for assistance.
so i believe that women utilise their emotions better. just because women are more emotional doesnt mean we arent strong. infact its healthier to express your emotions....its alows u to let go of negative feelings instead of repress them or egnor them which men are more likely to do....which means they are not really dealing with their emtotions.

I'd say no. strength is not going where ever gravity takes you, strength is the ability to resist. generaly women feel and act upon emotions regardless of wither they are correct or beneficial. someone who was emotionaly strong would NOT act on emotions that were counter productive. someone who is emotionaly strong would not stay with an abuser.
PS. to those who will gat mad at the generalization... ask a general question get a general answer.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the individual. There are emotionally stronger men and women around, as well as weaker ones.
The factors that make for emotional strength are working with ones one issues , owning and acknowledging them, being content in oneself, loving one self as well as others and also formative experiences that have taught us emotional lessons.

  • It seems a bit of a generalization on me -- I think it would depend on the individual, their childhood, and the society around them, rather than their gender.
I may be wrong, though, I'm no scientist.

women and men show their emotions in very different ways. While it may not be universal, and apply to men and women as a standard, I feel that women tend to be more open with their emotions (hello estrogen!). But I too have seen men be emotional, at both ends of the spectrum.

Women also are more known to "stick together". They have a support system that tends to promote strength in themselves.

    No.

A woman wil suffer a great deal in the short term but a man will suffer for much longer in the long term. Men are scorned for much longer. They may not show it, but they certainly feel it!

men deal with emotion differntly than women, many women say we dont deal with our emotion i think we do through anger playing sports or hitting things, or hitting people, shooting things, or making things explode etc many men solve emotional problems through violence i dont see a problem as long as its a inanimate object or unless the person deserved it by starting a fight.

P.S when hitting somebody i do that through friendly boxing it helps me out by just being able to hit a person makes me feel better

Personally, I do think that women are emotionally stronger than men, we go through a whole lot more emotional stuff - like childbirth and raising the kids.
its like at school, if you're a girl you'll probably get bullied emotionally and if you're a boy physically. I also believe that men are stronger physically. Whilst women deal with their problems better men will be out there boxing or playing rugby or something.
There will be some men that are really strong emotionally, though on average men tend to hide their feelings when women share them.
But, at the end of the day we are who we are and we both need eachother.
