I can only speak for myself, of course, but I would say it's not because we LIKE to, it's just neccessary sometimes. You have to remember that we're packing three highly sensitive objects into a hot, confined space. Sometimes they need to be rearranged because they've come to rest in an awkward or uncomfortable position. In particularly hot weather the scrotum can get stuck to the thighs, which obviously is not the most comfortable feeling! Also there is the factor of itchiness. Even the most hygenic man has an occasional itch. Now, I'm not one to scratch down there in public but some men are not bothered about engaging in this behaviour. If girls ever tried walking around with what we've got for just 24 hours maybe they would be a little more understanding! (And, yes, I know women can say the same. Maybe we should be able to swap at will, then maybe there would be more understanding between the sexes!)
