  • I'm assuming you're asking how the cue ball gets returned on a coin-operated machine when you scratch, right? So that the cue ball gets returned and back into play after a scratch, instead of being held in the table until money is inserted, one of two systems is used. Some tables use an oversized cue ball (2 3/8 inch diameter instead of the standard 2 1/4 inch for the colored balls). That slight size difference allows the cue ball to be sorted out and returned instead of being routed to the storage area. Because the slight difference in the size of the cue ball can affect play, some tables use a magnet system. The cue ball has a magnet imbedded in it which triggers a gate to route it back to the return chute instead of the storage chute. The colored balls are non-magnetic and pass by the gate into the storage area.
  • WTF this guys question makes no sense at all
