I studied this in ecconomics and it was concluded that the reason that there was such a small difference between the two was not try and give a different taste but it was that men were avoiding diet coke as over the years it had become a more "womanly" drink.

Some men may then be reluctant to buy it which is why coke zero was realeased. This gave men the option between the two.

One of the answers here talks about how her husband prefers coke zero and how she prefers diet cok. This is a perfect example showing how succesful the idea was.

They are sweetened differently. Coke Zero is supposed to taste more like regular Coke.

There may be no difference other than subjective impulse as to which product to purchase. Coke may be conducting a psychological test to determine how best to label their product for increased sales.

Wanted to see the difference between Zero and Diet, so I bought Zero. Zero tastes just like Regular Coke to me, but it is a whole lot sweeter, gave me a headache due to the sweetness. I will definitely stick with Diet Coke.

Aspartame is carcinogenic, as many of you have said. Dont drink any of it, in fact, dont have most things - aspartame is in a lot. Chewing gum for example. Look at the history of Aspartame - in the US it was illegal to use before the 80s and in about 82 or so, by a lot of political rigging, the use of aspartame was forced thro. Very strange.

Im pretty sure they're the same thing with different packaging...

With the amount of sugar in it, it can't be good for you.

Ya I figured.

Neither of the two named products contain any sugar.  That's the point of the “Diet” and “Zero” designations.
Avatar anoyonous Apr, 29 2008 at 11:02 AM
so then why do they call one diet coke and coke zero...it doesn't make ANY sense! lol
