Do people think you over do with your pets? (buy them too many toys, etc)

yes. my pets are so dear to me. sometimes i forget that other people don't love them as much as i do. but, i'm 24, unmarried and don't have kids yet. i have to spoil and nurture someone!

No - I have very few toy's - they love being outside

I think my parents definitely do - they're looking after my pooch. When my pooch is at my place he sleeps in a cushy kennel but still sleeps outside without complaint, he's got a stack of toys to keep him busy and gets biscuits (dog appropriate) and bones. That's the level of pampering he gets from us. From my parents however, he gets a $3,000 leather couch to lounge on at will, is never outside apart from going to the toilet, he urinates in the house (due to the parentals forgetting to put him outside as often as they should) and they simply clean it up without complaint and they buy roast chicken and cook roasts just because he's there and likes meat. He's getting spoilt rotten and I'm negotiating with my parents to take him and keep him as I just don't have enough time and he'll be pining for my parents if I take him back.

We got a few laughs when people saw the cat couch, but we were given it. Otherwise, she would be just as happy sleeping on some towels. She is the sweetest little thing and, in all her 14 years, has never demanded anything but love from us. And she gets it.

My first cat that I had, I loved more that anything. When came home with a bag she oud look inside to see what I brought her. I would treat myself to a steak and get her, her fav can food and we would sit in my room and eat together. I would call and leave messages for her on the answering machine. When I got home if she wasn't at the stairs waiting for me I would call out "Sweet Baby Mommy Home" and she would come running. Apparently it bothered my family because Kitty would always be the first one I called....go figure.

It's better you over do with your pets than you under do. People who spoil their pets are the minority when you consider the way most pets are treated.

Yes, we have five & spoil them rotten, but why not? They bring so much joy to our life. :o)
