I'd be happy to have laser surgery, often they pay for it
sorry to burst your bubble, but only 4% of the Air Force actually fly.

That's for sure. Good food. Two men to a room dorms. And you ride everywhere. And very small chance of being killed in some stupid war.
Several of my family members are AF officers. It's a great career.
I once had a beautiful red Maine Coon cat named Marcus Aurelius.
:>) fortunate cat.

It's a bad idea, Carmella. When you get here, I'm gonna make you swear to stay out of the RAF, at least while the British have troops in Iraq. I would never forgive myself if I didn't and something happened to you. It would kill me.
Aww, thanks J. My heart says yes to joining but my head says 'no way girl!' If I did join, it wouldn't be until after University anyway.
Whew!

Yes, very true about regular deployment cycles with the Navy. However, not true about being a foot soldier as a Marine. (Never call a Marine a "soldier" first of all!!! :o) ) All Marines are riflemen. And USMC pilots are treated (read as: "revered") as pilots. BUT, excluding recent data with Army and Reservists and the current war, Marines are away from home, on average, more than any other branch of service for deployments, exercises, trainings, etc.
I meant no disrespect by saying the Marines are all foot soldiers. Whatever you want to call them (riflemen, foot soldier, etc.) it amounts to the same thing. They are all infantry first and foremost. It doesn't matter if they are pilots, tank drivers, cooks, clerks, what have your. They are all infantry as well. I also recognize and respect the fact that they are also highly trained. They are an elite force, one that I doubt I ever could have measured up to.
Hey, neither could I :o)
