If two umpires converse on the field during play, but no "official" time is requested by either umpire, is the play "dead" or can players continue to play (according to Little League/Pony League Rules)?

I think it is pretty much taken for granted that ANY time that 1 or more umpires leave their position to "converse on the field" that play is suspended or "dead".
