Help answer this question below.

I am in the process of assuming a mortgage, the seller though has a second mortgage on the house. Should I be responsible for that second mortgage?

    The second mortgage goes with the first mortgage.

    If you buy the house, you buy both mortgages and will be responsible for both.

    If the title is in your name then all owed debts to pay off the notes are yours also.
