Considering the rampant pillaging of the Amazon rain forest, countless tons of timber have been illegally cut down.
According to the first link, Brazil has been estimated to have as much as 50% in illegal logging. So I'm not sure how much to charge if all timber were legal, but I'm sure there would have to be a tremendously larger patrolling force to enforce only legal logging all over the world.

If you are a lumberman or you deal with cutting down trees, can you tell me some reasons you cut down trees? I'm doing a project on deforestation. Also, could you include your name so I can use you as a primary resource? Thanks!!!

You're reading If the true environmental cost of a rainforest tree (cost of replacement/biodiversity loss, etc) was added to the price of rainforest timber, how much more expensive would it be?
