    Clever lads (and sometimes ladies).

They get a good, steady job where they get to practice psych with no credentials, sell promises (and sometimes make a huge pile of cash) cash up front with delivery after the customer dies, they are very often respected members of their community (which in some cases can be global) and consulted on all sorts of things for which they have no authority or knowledge.

In short - they have worked the perfect con. And they are asked to do it again... and again... and again...

Full of giant loads of B.S and in no way good examples of Christ.

With reference to Catholicism, the three I have known were extraordinarily honest men. Their honest answers to my tough questions are what convinced me that I could never be a Catholic. Their answers caused my regard for the Catholic church in general to decline. However, I admire them a great deal for not having fed me a line of B.S.

The priesthood is nothing more or less than a beaurocracy. Surprisingly few of them believe in a god. I once had a good friend who was a priest from Italy, and who once confided to me that he didn't believe in god, but he was a good man who worked tirelessly for his parish, and an entertaining bloke to have a drink or six with. Some years later, at the age of 37, he left the church and got a real job that didn't clash with his conscience.
Father Bob McGuire is one of my favourite people, and one of the most devout men that I have ever encountered, but his church was taken from him when he turned 70, along with his 'license to bless' and to hear confession, but the cranky old bugger has become a media personality, and good luck to him.
As in every walk of life, some are bad, some are good, and some just go through the motions.
Some enter the priesthood to gain prestige and an easy life. Some see it as a way by which they might fulfil themselves.

As long as they are not trying to convince me that I will burn for eternity if I don't follow their word to the T they do not cross my thought radar at all.

Those we are trying to convince me that I will burn for eternity I think are idiots.

the majority of 'priests' have only "manmade" authority they don't count for mine . Only men can be priests in Christs church and they have to be called of God ,and even then many have fallen .

In answering your question, I'll try to be as forthright as possible without being offensive. In general I don't hold the Catholic religion in very high regard and specifically I don't think much at all about priests.

    Which kind:
    1) The kind who sexually abuse young children.
    2) The kind who help conceal the goings on in para1
    3) The kind who do nothing about it one way or the other.
    4) The kind who abhor such practices and speak out forcefully about the disgraceful practice (have any of this kind come to light so far? If so, I bet they aren't priests any longer).

"What miserable drones and traitors have I nourished and brought up in my household, who let their lord be treated with such shameful contempt by a low-born cleric?"

I feel about the same way.....
