Yes it can cause your child to have serious health issues. You are too young to be drinking anyway. Being pregnant at your age is enough to deal with.

If you drink too much alcohol during pregnancy it can permanently damage your baby's developing cells. This could affect how your baby's face, organs and brain grow. Alcohol is a toxin. When you drink alcohol it rapidly reaches your baby across the placenta, via your bloodstream.

Heavy drinking can also damage your baby's nervous system. This can result in your baby having learning difficulties and problem with movement and coordination throughout his/her life. The term for all these problems is fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Its called a spectrum because the problems can range from mild learning difficulties, through to birth defects. No mother who loves her child would drink and get drunk during pregnancy. This type of behaviour is totally irresponsible and cruel IMO.

Very light consumption with wide intervals is not courting trouble very strongly; drinking to the point of actual inebriation is asking for trouble - trouble which might never come but the odds are such that the gamble's not worth taking.

It is a bad idea to drink while pregnant. It could cause problems with your baby as well as complications with your pregnancy. If you choose to breastfeed your baby once he/she is born then that is a different story. I began breastfeeding my little girl when she was born and the doctor told me to drink some beer to help produce more milk. It is fine to drink to help produce more breastmilk, but to be safe I wouldn't recommend drinking alcohol while pregnant.

Drinking to excess or regularly drinking while pregnant could negatively impact the fetus. That said, a small glass of wine or beer during pregnancy is not awful.

Anything in excess while pregnant or not is potentially harmful. Remember, moderation in all things.

My mother and I were talking about this the other day. She recalls a day when doctors said Guinness, good for horses and pregnant ladies and advised a half a beer an hour or so before nursing to relax mom.

Somehow people survived, grew, learned and prospered when this sort of attitude was common.

15 year-olds should focus on education rather than reproducing and getting drunk, both of which separately are rough on a child's future, but together are most likely disastrous. So, I suppose to answer your question, I should say "yes". And I'd also suggest that you not take up smoking either.

The so-called "experts" say it's dangerously harmful to the fetus...and that makes sense in that the baby is taking nutrients from what you ingest. And perhaps it's one of the reasons that alcoholism seems to pass on from genertion to generation. Admittedly, I don't know.

Back in the day when I was being carried by my Mother some 74 years ago, it wasn't an issue...and I'm certain that she drank during her pregnancy...and smoked, as well. I turned out just fine...even though that may be open to debate.

Bottom line, though, if you can avoid using alcohol and tobacco products, along with a lot of other stuff your doctor will advise, I would keep the well-being of your infant at the top of your list of concerns. And after your baby is born, I hope you'll continue that priority.

Good wishes to you, your baby and your family.

    Answer

..... It can cause serious birth issues for your baby, like being addicted to alcohol when they're born which can cause them to weird deformities.

Please don't drink alcohol while you are pregnant. foetal alcohol syndrome (fas) is very real . It affects are irreversible and can cause physical and mental disabilities. Please go google FAS and see for yourself, I have worked with children with FAS and it just breaks my heart that a mother willingly can do this to her children.

Once?...no...not that bad. But on a continual basis it's considered irresponsible and morally wrong. When a woman drinks and gets drunk while pregnant she is risking the health of her baby. Whatever the woman takes into her body will effect the baby. Alcohol is easily absorbed into the mothers bloodstream and then transferred to the baby. There can be potential serious health issues if the woman drinks and gets drunk on a regular basis.
Now once or twice out on the town party? I dont see anything wrong with that. As long as its done n moderation and with the health of the baby in mind.
