make sure there is no standing water (buckets, tires, etc.)

you can repell them with gardens of certain plants.
    Citronella Grass (Cymbopogon nardus)
    Catnip (Nepeta cataria)

the following plants are less effective but still have some work
    Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
    Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
    Marigolds (Tagetes spp.)
    Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)
    Garlic (Allium sativum)
    Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)
    Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp.)
    Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
    Lavendar (Lavandula angustifolia )

Alloying? Bug repellant spray (to put on yourself) might help and another thing are these lantern like things that are supposed to attract mosquitos and zap them.

If they're out there doing metal work, I'd make a video and post it on youtube. :-)

More seriously, you've got several options. One is to prevent them from breeding in the area, by getting rid of as much standing water as possible or putting mosquito dunks to kill them in water you want to keep like birdbaths or fish ponds. The adults all come from larvae that live in water.

If you can't stop the adults, there are mosquito traps that will suck them in and kill them, or you can use a screen tent or shelter to keep them away. There's also permethrin that you can spray on clothing to keep them off, that lasts for several weeks even through laundry, or clothing already treated with permethrin.

Here's a page with links to articles on different natural mosquito control methods:

What do you mean by alloying? I've never heard of insects alloying before.
